Membership
We want to give supporters of BOWS a sense of ownership, so they can directly influence what happens by standing for positions of responsibility, or voting out representatives who no longer have their backing.
How much will membership cost?
There will be two categories of membership: Canoeing and Non-Canoeing
Non-Canoeing membership is simply to help cover the cost of the website, room hire and incidental expenses of running any voluntary organisation.
Canoeing membership is higher because it will cover the free use of canoes belonging to BOWS which includes group affiliation to the British Canoe Union, a boat registration fee paid to British Waterways, insurance and the administration of the Canoe key-holder scheme.
